Technology is evolving every day, changing and expanding to meet the needs of a fast-paced, driven society. It is all around us and affects almost everything we do. Keeping up with it can be challenging, but young people respond particularly well to this. Today’s youth are technology-oriented: They understand it, they utilize it practically and, above all, they enjoy it!

There is ongoing debate about the intersection between technology and education, and school districts are recognizing the importance of integrating the two. For example, many schools have begun the transition from traditional chalkboards to interactive smart boards, and have been purchasing computers for their libraries and media centers. But when it comes to technology in the lesson itself, many educators are reluctant to embrace the change. Cell phones, tablet devices, and other tools are feared as distractions to students. While these concerns are understandable, proper integration, education and monitored use of these devices can create an enhanced classroom experience.
