Statewide digital assessments appear to have taken hold, and recognizing that such tools remain organic and make up a bit of a shifting landscape, we thought we’d ask, and we also thought you’d like to know . . .

And if your district plans to use the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) Interim Assessment Blocks (IABs) to get students ready for the SBAC summative assessment, Compass Learning® is ready to help you prepare your students! Compass Learning now provides educators with SBAC Interim Assessment Block assignments to help make student IAB data immediately actionable. These pre-built lessons — which are available for free in Pathblazer®, Hybridge™, Compass Learning® High School, and Odyssey® software — align to assessment block objectives and provide targeted instruction for the skills and concepts in those blocks.
These online assignments are presented through the same engaging video, animation, and interactive functionality and use the same student-friendly voice that characterizes all Compass Learning digital content. The assignments align to the assessment objectives in SBAC math and English language arts IABs for grades 3-8 and high school. The assignments are ideal for addressing student skill and concept gaps revealed by Interim Assessment Block results and will help ensure that students are ready for SBAC summative assessments in the spring. The assignments will be available to educators for use at the beginning of the 2015–2016 school year.
